R&D Update: Plate Detection — Alpha

Today we reached a key milestone in our AI and computer-vision pipeline: the Spotxel® Reader detection engine now identifies the plate outline and infers its orientation. This lays the groundwork for upcoming well-grid detection and on-device performance tuning.

Release timing: We’re continuing to improve accuracy on tilted/low-light images. As a result, the first public builds on the app stores are now likely in January 2026.
